The location is magnificent, the breakfast is also FRESHLY PREPARED. Beds in the room were comfortable. It's approx 10-15 minutes' walk from Rokin metro station, liked that, easily travelled around the city.
-
In general, the hotel was spotlessly clean. An electric kettle and glassware where available in the kitchen. Really perfectly located property. It made our trip to Amsterdam a wonderful experience.
-
Lovely base for 2 nights. Friendly staff and unbeatable location. Bed was super, we truly enjoyed it. It's near tales & spirits with nice drinks and cocktails.
Rooms were a little small.
-
we stayed here to visit amsterdam dungeon that was not far from the hotel. everything was very good in this venue, including service and location.
Can’t think of anything!
-
We really loved the balcony, it was lovely. Direct connection to madame tussauds amsterdam. Superb base for discovering Amsterdam. 15 mins walk to the metro station:)))

Location. Comfortable bed. Pleasant breakfast.
To walk up to the 5th floor... but that's the little things.
-
Friendly Helpful staff. Nice breakfast
I was checked intoa room that wasn't ready. Other than that, a nice central hotel.
-
The location has to be the main feature of this Hotel. It is a 5 min stroll to Dam Square, but located on a lovely quiet street, so there is no noise etc once in your Hotel. And the beds were magnificent!
Bathroom was very small, but again, this was only minor and myself and girlfriend still used it with no hassle.
-
The hotel Citadel came up to expectations in every way. It was comfortable and clean and close to the Central Station. The breakfast was very good and my friend and myself enjoyed our stay there.. I
The shower area was small and confined so we did not use it but this would not stop me from using The Citadel again.
-
breakfast. location not far from the amsterdam central station and dam square. 10-15 mins by walk.
smoky smell in the room. old fashion restroom. one of the staff in the hotel is not friendly.
-
Beds were too soft and warm
-
-fairly close to central area & able to walk from train station. Busy street with a youth hostel nearby. Breakfast was nice & very clean. Staff were friendly.
- unable to get into room until after 1pm & we had arrived at hotel by 8:30am. We were very tired & it would have been nice if the staff had offered us coffee. But we had to find someplace to go on a grey & rainy morning.
